Dear 5th Graders and Parents/Guardians,
Curtain Up!!! Light the Lights!!! It is time for our sixth annual Broadway Bonanza to begin! We would like to hold an informational meeting on Thursday, December 11th before school at 8:15am. If you’re interested in participating in this production in any way, please be in attendance on the 11th!! We will discuss the audition process for lead roles, the expectations of the ensemble, and stage crew and dance captain opportunities. In order to sign up for the show, we would like anyone interested to be present on the 11th. If you cannot attend the 11th, please see one of the Broadway Team Members so we can sign you up and you do not go overlooked.
On Monday, December 15th, we will hold auditions for LEAD ROLES ONLY after school from 3:15-4:30pm. Depending on the response, we may need to extend auditions to Tuesday the 16th, and Wednesday the 17th, after school as well, so please keep those dates open! *A lead role is someone who sings by themselves, has lines, and is usually in front of the dance numbers. If you want to be in the show but do not want to be considered for a lead role, you do not have to attend on December 15th. However, you are welcome to come and cheer on your friends who are auditioning!
Please keep in mind that the Broadway Bonanza dress rehearsals and performances will be March 30th, 31st and April 1st. We will hold weekly rehearsals on Mondays afterschool from 3:15-4:30pm and Wednesdays before school from 8:15-9:00am. Lead roles will be asked to come in at other times as well. These dates are to be determined on your work ethic and dedication!
We look forward to your participation in this brave endeavor! If you have any questions please contact, one of the team members! We look forward to hearing your voices and working with all of you soon.

The Smith Haven Mall will be hosting their annual holiday tree lighting ceremony on Monday, December 1st, in the Lifestyle Village Courtyard (outside, behind Barnes and Noble). Once again, we have been asked to sing some Holiday songs!
The ceremony is 4:00pm-6:00pm. During this time visitors are treated to free coffee, hot chocolate and other refreshments while listening to the sounds of the season performed by local school choirs. There will be face painting, crafts, giveaways and lots of free family fun to keep you entertained. Plus, keep an eye out for a visit from the jolly man himself, Santa Claus!
I am asking that everyone arrive by 5:30 pm so that we can assemble in a timely and orderly fashion. We are performing at 5:45 pm (right before the tree lighting). Singers should bundle up! It’s an outdoor performance!! Please go to the website to practice the songs (musicwithmrsb.blogspot.com).
***I am adding TWO extra rehearsals to prepare for this event! We will rehearse Tuesday, November 25th, AND Monday, December 1st, at 8:30 a.m. in the Music Room. ***Please note time change!!*** These practices are not mandatory! If they have another commitment, such as Orchestra, that is fine! Just practice with a friend some other time! J If your child cannot attend the event, they are not expected to be at the extra rehearsals.
