St. James Singers first meeting 2017-18

Do you like to sing?
Do you enjoy making music?
COME JOIN: The St. James Singers
This club is open to any 3rd, 4th or 5th grader who is interested in singing in a children’s choir!  The St. James Singers will learn classical and modern repertoire to perform a concert for family members in June.  Other opportunities to perform outside of St. James Elementary School may arise (i.e. Caroling at local nursing homes, singing the National Anthem for local sports games, Smithtown Day, Barnes & Nobel, etc.).  This is the “on-call” performance group for such events.  There is also a possibility of signing up for singing festivals within the county such as the Long Island Music Festival.
If you are interested in joining, you must come to our first meeting Thursday @ 8:30am, October 5th, in the multipurpose room to sign up, audition, and receive a contract! New members will be required to audition.   Those auditioning will sing a simple song that will be taught in the beginning of the first meeting.
The Singers will meet every other Thursday at 8:30 am – 9:30 am in the multipurpose room.   With rehearsals being so scarce, it is crucial that the members of this group are committed to working on their music at home using my website or any other materials that may be distributed.  There will be an attendance policy, code of conduct and a contract for parents and members to sign.
There are so many talented young musicians in our school and this club will provide another musical outlet to their lives. You must be present on October 5th in order to become a member of the club.  Any questions or concerns you may email me at and don’t forget to check the website for any other information,!
