Nutcracker (1st and 2nd grade)

We are pleased to announce that we will be performing The Nutcracker Suite again this year! This is a wonderful performance opportunity for our 1st and 2nd grade students.  If you are unfamiliar with our tradition, an abridged production of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite is prepared by myself, Mrs. Lynch, and our 1st and 2nd grade teachers during the months of October, November, and December. Each class is assigned a specific dance from the Nutcracker and will perform their dances in front of the school and their parents during the week of December. Please save the following dates and look out for updates regarding this production.

  • December 13th: *ALL COSTUMES IN!*
  • December 18th: Full Dress Rehearsal for school to watch
  • December 19th: Day Performances for parents to watch
    • 10:30am for First Grade Guests
    • 1:30pm for Second Grade Guests
    • *ALL students perform in both shows!*

Since Halloween season is upon us I thought it would behoove us all to let you know of the costumes for each class/dance ahead of time.  If you happen to have these items at home from previous Halloween costumes, dress up days, etc. please hang on to them, regardless if your child needs it or not- another child in different class may need the item!  Below is the list of costumes needed by classroom teacher. Make sure everything is labeled and ready to go by Friday, December 13th!

If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at cbraunreuther@smithtown.k12.ny.us Thank you again. Looking forward to our 11th annual performance!

Warmly,

Mrs. Braunreuther
Music Teacher/Director
