This is my 12th year at St. James Elementary School of the Smithtown Central School District!!
I teach classroom music (K-5) and conduct the 4th &5th grade choirs,
as well as help with instrumental lessons,
and direct the Broadway Bonanza and Grade Level
Performances like the Nutcracker & Mother Goose Show.

I am also on staff for the Long Island Children’s Choir.
I am the conductor/artistic director of the Prelude choir,
which is made up of the youngest and beginning level singers.
The LICC Prelude choir participates in community performances and
service performances across the island.
This “choir for a cause” is a great opportunity for children who LOVE to sing.

Other conducting and presentation experiences include;
Usdan Summer Camp for the Creative and Performing Arts Junior Chorus Director,
Orange County School Music Association’s All County Chorus Division 1 Conductor,
Nassau County School Music Association's All County Chorus Division 2 Conductor,
as well as Smithtown's Elementary Music Festival Conductor,
and the NYSSMA Summer Conference 2018 Presenter.

I pride myself in being extremely active in the music education community.
I served as the VP of Classroom Music for the Suffolk County Music Educators Association (SCMEA)
for four years and is a member of other organizations such as; NYSSMA,
Long Island Association of the Orff-Schulwerk Association (recently completed Orff Level 1),
and the American Choral Directors Association.
These memberships keep me active in the music community and her teaching pedagogies current.

I received a bachelor’s of music degree in music education with a vocal concentration from
the Crane School of Music at the State University of New York at Potsdam and later earned
my master’s degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Making music with children is such a joy and pleasure.
I do not expect my students to become the next Mozart or Bruno Mars,
but I do want them to develop a love for music and experience music
in the most authentic way possible. :)
